The Festival of Quilts
In August I went to the Festival of Quilts at Birmingham with my mum. I’ve often been to a similar event run by the same organisation; the Knitting & Stitching Exhibition at Alexandra Palace, and have found those events to be excellent. But I’d never been to the Quilt one until now.
In the end, I enjoyed it very much. We were astounded by some of the incredible quilts on display – works of art, really.
Also, it was HUGE. We were there for the whole day and still didn’t get to see everything.
Some of the quilts on show gave me a headache just thinking about all the work that had gone into them.
And then there were the stalls. An almost overwhelming volume of glorious, beautiful fabric. I stocked up on a loads of lovely bits and pieces:
